a sign of the times

i stopped by macy's on the way home yesterday evening. i was there to get a gift for sweet ole Mal who i'll be seeing this weekend.

so i pick out this cute Ralph Lauren Polo plaid sundress. very chic little thing for a near-12-year-old girl. MSRP: $60.

the woman at the counter rang it up: $8.75. we look at each other, and i say, 'are you sure??' she tries ringing it up on a different register, same price. so i grab a few more items (i can't very well just show up with a nine dollar dress, even if it was on deep discount).

long story short: four girls' fashion items totalling $142 MSRP for $35.95.
