mourning

doing all the stereotypical things: taking memories out of the mental file cabinet, going through old pictures, searching online resources about cat illness and pet loss, visiting pet shelter websites (no, i'm not going to get another cat right away but it's tempting to try plug the loss-hole), spending a lot of quality time with Annabelle, wanting to share stories about him, looking for him in his spots, crying and then not crying and then crying again...

i haven't put his food/water dish away yet. it's been less than 48 hours; this is still okay, isn't it?
