the consumption cycle
i have this strange pattern of consumption. i feel strong impulses to use up my stock of something: microwave popcorn, tissues, shampoo, fresh fruit... i love breaking down the box or rinsing out the bottle and throwing it in the recycling bin. triumph - on less thing to clutter my life!
but when i get down to the bottom of the stock, the other impulse kicks in: re-stocking, which brings more "stuff" back into my apartment. then i'm back to the impulse to use up the stuff so that i can de-clutter again.
it's like the wheel in the gerbil cage. a race that cannot be won.
am i the only one with this affliction?

nope! i love to break down a popcorn box with the best of them. and then buy four more boxes, preferrably right before the last one is thrown away.
