Sunny, this is for you since you're not on Facebook... Plus, I want to know which of these you already knew...
Rules:
Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.
1. I already did this assignment, deleted it after a few hours, got asked where it went, rewrote up to #24, crashed my browser 10 minutes ago, and am doing it for the third time.
2. While living in Asia, I missed cheese a lot. Cheesecake, macaroni and cheese, etc. I currently have a 60-pack of string cheese from Costco in my fridge.
3. Which is ironic because I haven't drank cow's milk in over ten years. A grad school professor made a compelling point that humans are the only animals that drink other species' milk. That made an impression, and I've drank only soy milk ever since.
4. I am not brand loyal. But I can tell you that the Trader Joe's version of string cheese is far inferior to the string cheese you can get at Costco.
5. I own and wear clothes and shoes I purchased in the 90s.
6. I have a bias against monosyllabic male names. So aside from angry mothers, I may be the only one calling Jeff Jeffrey, Joe Joseph, Dave David... you get the picture.
7. However, I do not call my brother Sam Samuel. That would just be wrong.
8. Joseph is the closest friend I've had who's been really sick. I don't think he knows that I used to cry silently on the phone when getting his health updates. One time he used the phrase "mortality rate" quite matter-of-factly, and I lost it when we hung up. (He's doing good, by the way).
9. Speaking of crying, I seem to have a million triggers. I cry at weddings. I cry at live concerts. I cry every time I see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind during the scene when Joel and Clementine are at the beach house right before the last of Joel's memories are erased. Oh, and the scene when Hubbell and Katie see each other again at the end of The Way We Were.
10. I do not cry when I see The Princess Bride, which is my all-time favorite movie. Adventure, romance, humor, fantasy. What more could a film ask for?
11. Speaking of make-believe, I am somewhat of a sci-fi geek. I love Star Wars, Star Trek: The Next Generation, The X-Files, and now LOST. However, I only watch. I do not dress or collect. Even I have my limits.
12. My three closest female friends do not have monosyllabic names. Ironically, I call two of them Dee and Es.
13. The older of my two cats, Meshach, has lived with me with eight different roommates in three states and nine apartments. He has also had three different caretakers while I've lived away, two named Johnny.
14. One of those Johnnys is like a brother to me. When we were little, we were the "ring boy" and "flower girl" in at least half a dozen of our church weddings. Why us, I don't know why.
15. One time an internal conversation escaped my head, jumped out of my mouth and I randomly blurted out, "It will be sad when James Earl Jones dies." My boyfriend at the time, who was present when said event occurred, ribbed me about this for years.
16. I'd like to have a karaoke wedding reception. Actually, it doesn't have to be my wedding, so I am accepting invitations to be a karaoke diva at your wedding too.
17. I have ingested over ten dollars of bulk gummy worms in the past month.
18. I am the only person I know who has killed a bamboo plant by accident.
19. They did not ask me during my interview for Manager of P-Patch Community Gardens if I could keep plants alive.
20. I have a weird thing about paper waste. I have high anxiety about killing trees. I haven't purchased a newspaper or magazine in years - except for the day after Obama's election and the day of his inauguration. And an occasional crossword puzzle magazine while traveling.
21. The irony of refusing to buy a magazine all the while killing indestructible plants merely by existing is not beyond me.
22. My height and my birthday are both 4-10.
23. My life is filled with unfinished projects and attempts: songs, stories, poems, drawings, degrees, instruments, hobbies. It took me until recently to realize that I like to try a lot of new things, but lose interest quickly.
24. But I've almost finished this assignment, so I am capable of
