things i'm thankful for

1) choirs sound better in a sanctuary than they do in a rehearsal room;
2) my parents came out to support NW Chorale last night;
3) they're also sacrificing the evening of their 43rd anniversary to attend IDHA's annual holiday dinner for the elderly (i'd like them to get a glimpse of what we do);
4) Tai Ho is open until 11 p on saturdays. related, handmade chinese noodles. related, jja-jjang-myun. related, being able to split a bowl with a good friend;
5) Seattle is a place where professionals can dress casually (i.e. fleece and long johns);
6) Chinatown is a place where the elderly are integrated and visually present in the community (like most the rest of the world), and that i get to work in a community that doesn't feel sanitized (like most the rest of the U.S.);
7) Haruki Murakami - even though his last book (a collection of short stories) isn't that strong. related, the magic of literature.
