age

when i was young, adults used to tell me that they often forget their age. as a kid, i didn't understand that. how could someone forget how old they are??

but i'm finding out that it's true -- after 30, age becomes a more fluid, nebulous concept. when asked my age recently, i've responded between 27-35; i keep forgetting how old i am! the way i figure it out is subtracting my birthyear from the current year. it gets really confusing when i forget what year we're in...

I've experienced this phenomenon past 22. There is no more school year to remind me how many years have passed, or any defined milestones to remember how old I was "when". So, I'm some nebulous 20-something age...for a few more months, at least.
