please vote

people die in other countries for the right to participate in democracy. if you haven't filled out your absentee ballot yet, or haven't scheduled your tuesday to include a visit to the polls, please do. we're so fortunate to be able to choose our policymakers and influence policies.

here's my vote:

NO on I-90
NO on I-944
YES on I-937

YES on Seattle Initiative No. 91
YES on Seattle Proposition No. 1

don't be tricked by campaigns that report we've passed other tax initiatives to pay for human services, education, transportation, etc. these are half-truths. most previous tax initatives passed have been essentially neutralized (if not significantly worsened) by anti-tax initiatives like the ones that created $30 car tab and limited property tax increases (at lower than inflationary rates). we have less money coming into our governmental structures to pay for essential services, not more. keep the estate tax. it only affects the wealthiest 1/2% of households, and the beneficiaries are all WA residents.
