in honor of sorrow - and sitting with it

I am reminded tonight about the importance of feeling sorrow. When we do not feel our grief, we lose sensitivity to the signs that warn us of harm. Lately I've been tempted to throw caution to the wind and take my 'happiness' into my own hands. Here it is: I don't know what to do, I hate not knowing what to do, and in the absence of not knowing what to do, I just want to do something. This is the time when we tend to make stupid mistakes.

be still & know.
such a short imperative, but what a difficult place in which to dwell.
you are in my prayers, dear, as you sit with this sorrow.
