squeeze it down to the size of a pinhead
from today's "Quotes of the Day" (this one hit me in a tender spot, as i've been thinking recently of the brokenness inherent in relationships):
"the stupid neither forgive nor forget; the naive forgive and forget; the wise forgive but do not forget." - Thomas Szasz

i stepped on the bus yesterday and saw an empty seat under my poem. i rarely see it on the bus, so i excitedly plopped down to read it. once i got there, the whole bus heard a big loud hiss; it was deafening. that was my ego being deflated. written on the poem, scribbled in pen, was this impassioned feedback: "This is not a poem! This is SO stupid! (Amen!) Who are the judges who picked these anyway? This is SO STUPID!"
i am now a bona fide artist. i've officially received my first public criticism for my work.

I like the quote. And yes, congratulations on achieving true artistic notoriety. I think it's true that pissing someone off is a good sign that you're being true to your vision.
Wentina Hurtado and I sat on the bus together today, right beneath said poem--to our delight.
And now that I know what a "philistine" is, I will use it to so name the brat who marked up your words: philistine.
wow, Zadok was on the bus with Wentina Hurtado, SuJ'n is officially accepted via criticism as a real artist, and according to the quote in this post, I must be wise. wow again.
